Machine Troubleshooting

FAULT

CAUSE
REMEDY
The Machine does
not start.
No supply of electricity.

Make sure the machine is connected to a proper source of electricity - 240 V, 50 to 60Hz, and earth connection.

The EMERGENCY STOP is activated (pressed inwards).

Release EMERGENCY STOP (pull outwards and make sure it can turn). Then, press the "ON" button.

The machine is in "OFF" position.

Press "ON" button (make sure the emergency button is not activated).

The blasting gun has not been activated.

Activate the blasting gun.

FAULT

CAUSE
REMEDY
The Machine is turned on but it does not blast.
No supply of compressed air.

Check that the machine is properly connected.

Defective main valve..

Examine and replace main valve, if defective.

Defective regulator valve.

Examine and replace regulating valve if defective.

No electrical connection between the gun and the blasting hose AND/OR between the blasting hose and the machine..

Make sure the electrical plug of the gunis correctly attached to the electrical socket of the blasting hose, and make sure the plug at the other end of the blasting hose is correctly plugged into the socket on the front of the machine.

Loose connections, defective plugs, damaged cables

Check all connectors, cables, replace defective parts or correct loose connections.

FAULT

CAUSE
REMEDY
The machine is turned on but it does not blast.

The flow of air and dry ice is blocked because the blasting hose is kinked or extremely inflexed.

Straighten up the blasting hose.

The blasting hose or the gun are blocked because of frozen water (the air is too humid) or impurities in the flowing air.

Allow hose or gun to defreeze and remove the impurities that cause the blockage. Make sure the air is dry and clean.

FAULT

CAUSE
REMEDY
The machine blasts but there is no projection of dry ice.

The machine's tank is empty.

Refill the tank with dry ice pellets
The passage of dry ice to the dozing system is blocked, probably because of clumps or "cakes" of dry ice pellets.

Empty the tank, remove the clumps or cakes, blast inside the tank with plain air in order to remove remaining obstacles and humidity that might eventually turn into ice and produce more blockages.

The tank is not vibrating so the dry ice does not flow to the dozing system. The peumatic vibrator is either frozen or defective.

Empty the tank, let the vibrator unfreeze (or warm it up with hot air). Make sure that the internal air pressure supplied to the vibrator is between 4.5 bar / 65 psi and 5.0 bar / 73 psi.
This can be checked and adjusted on the small manometer inside the machine.
Replace the vibrator if defective.

The dozing system is blocked by a foreign object.

Remove the foreign object. Call a service technician since the dosing system will have to be dismantled and the dosing disc will have to be examined and replaced if damaged.

The electric motor is overloaded.

Switch off the electricity supply to the machine for approx. 30 seconds.

FAULT
CAUSE
REMEDY
Continuouis loss or leakage of air.
Impurities block the main valve or the pilot-operated pressure regulator.

Open the mentioned units, clean or remove impurities, lubricate the piston inside the pilot pressure regulator, examine rubber membranes and replace if damaged.

FAULT
CAUSE
REMEDY
The blasting hose gets inflated or bulks..
The hose is defective or broken.

Stop the blasting machine IMMEDIATELY. Replace the hose or send it to the manufacturer for repair.
